“The MVP race was over before the All-Star break.”

John Heyman, a reporter for Major League Baseball, took to his personal social media accounts on the 9th to heap praise on Ohtani.

Ohtani started the 2023 Major League Baseball game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, USA, as the No. 1 designated hitter.

It was the last game of the first half of the day, and Ohtani led off the first inning with an explosive at-bat. He lined a single up the middle against Alex Vecchia.

One out later in the inning, in his second at-bat, he hit a triple to get into scoring position. He also hit a home run. In his fourth at-bat, with two outs and one on in the top of the seventh, he took a slider from reliever Michael Grove and smashed a two-run home run (his 32nd of the season) over the right field wall.

Ohtani’s home run shot travelled 433 feet (131.9 metres) at 105.2 miles (169.3 kilometres) per hour with a launch angle of 29 degrees. He ended up going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and one run scored, but his performance was overshadowed by his team’s 5-10 loss.

Ohtani finished the first half with a .302 (341-for-103) batting average, 32 home runs, 71 RBIs and 11 doubles with an OPS (on-base percentage) of 1.050 and a pitching record of 7-4 in 17 games with a 3.32 ERA, 132 strikeouts and a WHIP (walks allowed per inning) of 1.10.

After the game, Heyman said, “The MVP race was over before the All-Star break. This time it’s really over. Ohtani is the best baseball player in the game.”바카라

Ohtani is the favourite to win the American League MVP this year. Last year, he lost the award to Aaron Judge (31-New York Yankees), who hit 62 home runs, but this year he has no competition. Judge has been on the injured list (IL) since early last month with a right big toe injury. Ohtani, who has excelled as both a pitcher and a hitter, is the favourite to win MVP.

The Major Leagues head into the All-Star break from the 11th to the 15th. With a perfect first half of the season, fans are already looking forward to the second half of the season.
