Hanwha’s foreign-born outfielder Nick Williams suffered a hamstring injury after hitting a run-scoring double.

Williams started the 14th game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League against KT at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on Aug. 18 and went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored before coming off the bench.

After reaching on an error by second baseman Lee Ho-yeon in the second inning and scoring on Choi Jae-hoon’s infield single, Williams hit a two-run homer off KT starter Kim Min-ho in the bottom of the third inning for a 2-0 lead. He took a 144-kilometer fastball from Kim at 1B-1S for his seventh home run of the season, his first in 10 days since hitting one against Gochuk Kiwoom on Aug. 8.

However, Williams’ game ended prematurely when he was replaced by Kwon Kwang-min at the start of the fourth inning. A Hanwha official said, “Williams felt discomfort in his right hamstring and was replaced to protect the player. It is currently being iced.”먹튀검증

With Williams out of the lineup, Hanwha’s outfield consisted of Choi In-ho (left fielder), Kwon Kwang-min (center fielder), and Lee Jin-young (right fielder). Hanwha leads KT 4-1 in the fourth inning.
