“I will do my best to become a helpful player for FC Seoul for six months.”
FC Seoul has succeeded in embracing Hwang Eui-jo, a ‘national striker’ who played for Olympiacos in Greece. Terms are 6 months short term rental.
In the summer of 2017, Hwang Eui-jo returned to Japan after 5 years and 6 months, transferring from Seongnam FC to Gamba Osaka. Based on the European season, he wore the Seoul uniform for four months until June of this year and got to keep pace with Na Sang-ho and Ki Sung-yong in the new season. It is also the first reunion in 10 years with Seoul coach Ahn Ik-soo, who had a relationship as a coach and player in Seongnam in 2013. 먹튀검증
Hwang Eui-jo made his professional debut at Seongnam FC in 2013 and wore a Seongnam uniform until 2017, scoring 35 goals and 8 assists in 140 league games. He was nominated for the Young Player Award with 15 goals and 3 assists in the K League 1 in the 2015 season. Hwang Eui-jo was loaned to Olympiacos in Greece immediately after moving from Bordeaux, France to Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League (EPL) in August last year. However, he suffered from poor physical condition and was recently released from Olympiacos while not receiving enough playing time. While looking for a team in the winter transfer market, after twists and turns, I ended up wearing the FC Seoul uniform on loan from Olympiacos.
On the 5th, Hwang Eui-jo entered the GS Champions Park, the FC Seoul training ground, with a look full of anticipation. Seoul coach Ahn Ik-soo, who accompanied Hwang Ui-jo, an outstanding rookie from Poongsaeng High School youth during his time as Seongnam Ilhwa head coach, expressed his pleasure with a leg-kicking ceremony and a friendly joke. He tapped his shoulder, saying, “Welcome. Thank you for making such a difficult decision. Please show a representative player’s image for the fans of FC Seoul.”
Standing in front of the players, Hwang Ui-jo promised, “It’s a short period of six months, but I’ll do my best to become a helpful player for the team.” Even through the interview with the club, he said, “I’ve been playing for a team called FC Seoul. I will do my best to play as much as the players and fans expect. I hope you will support FC Seoul and me at the stadium. I’ll see you at the stadium.”
Hwang Eui-jo leaves for Kagoshima, Japan on the 6th, right after his joining, and joins FC Seoul’s second winter battery training.
